Lactation

Biodexone N Eye Drop is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.

Driving

Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Biodexone N Eye Drop may cause dizziness (vertigo). Changes in your eyesight or muscle weakness may also happen. This may affect your driving ability.

Kidney

Biodexone N Eye Drop is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Biodexone N Eye Drop may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.Regular monitoring of kidney function tests and other blood tests is advisable while you are taking Biodexone N Eye Drop.

Uses of Neomycin
Neomycin is used in the treatment of bacterial infections.

How to use Neomycin
This medicine is for external use only.Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye/ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid or ear. Wipe off extra liquid.

How Biodexone N Eye Drop works
Neomycin is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins, required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

Side Effects:

Common Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhoea, Skin rash, Balance disorder (loss of balance), Hearing loss.

Expert advice for Neomycin
For oral tablets:

Neomycin tablets are not recommended for children below six year of age.
Some patients (infants, elderly, obese and cystic fibrosis [genetic disorder that affects lungs] patients) may require monitoring of neomycin levels in blood to prevent damage to the ear and kidneys.
Caution is advised in patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease or any disease characterized by muscle weakness, or in patients about to receive general anesthesia.
Caution is also advised in patients who are exposed to loud noise, or patients who have been dehydrated due to diarrhea or vomiting.
